Ericeira is more than a surf town. It is the kind of place that quietly changes your routine, your pace and often even your priorities. People come here for a few days and suddenly stay for weeks, months or sometimes much longer. Between ocean mornings, long dinners, local cafés, cliff walks and creative conversations, there is a reason why so many digital nomads, surfers, creatives and remote workers end up calling this place home. My plan was to stay here for a month but the moment I arrived at Wild Souls Coliving I knew that that wasn’t gonna happen. I extended my stay over and over and fell in love with Ericeira more and more with every day. During my time at Wild Souls, I created a personalized photobook inspired by some of Wild Souls’ favorite places around Ericeira. What started as a creative side project slowly became a visual guide to the feeling of living here. Not just the surf spots people already know, but also the hidden corners, the cafés, beaches and small details that make this place so special. For me, Wild Souls captured that same feeling from the beginning. Not just a place tostay, but a place where people genuinely connect, share ideas, work remotely, surf together and experience Ericeira beyond tourism.
The Story Behind My Ericeira Photobook

When I started creating the photobook, I did not want to make another standard travel guide. I wanted it to feel personal. More like the kind of recommendations you get from a friend who actually spent time living somewhere. The book combines photography, small written stories and illustrated maps with favorite places around Ericeira. It includes beaches, cafés, restaurants, sports places, bars, wellness and relaxation and of course surf spots. Some places are famous. Others are easy to miss if you only stay for a few days.
The idea was simple: To create something visual and emotional that makes people want to explore the area slowly instead of rushing through a checklist.
Favorite Places Around Ericeira From the Photobook
Praia do Sul
One of the most accessible beaches in Ericeira and one of the best places for slow mornings. You will often see surfers, runners, locals having coffee and people simply sitting on the rocks watching the ocean. It is the perfect example of why life here feels calmer.
Ribeira d’Ilhas

Probably the most iconic surf spot in the area and one of the main reasons surfers from around the world come to Ericeira. Even if you do not surf, it is worth visiting for sunset alone.
The Blue and White Streets of Ericeira

One of my favorite things about the town is simply walking without a plan. The white houses with blue details, small cobblestone streets and ocean light give the entire town a very distinct atmosphere. These little moments became a big part of the photobook because they represent everyday life here better than any tourist attraction.
Local Cafés and Slow Breakfasts

One thing many people underestimate about Ericeira is how much café culture shapes daily life. Remote workers spend hours writing, editing, designing or planning their next project while sitting outside in the sun. Good coffee, ocean air and slower mornings somehow make creative work feel easier.
Final Thoughts

Ericeira is full of beautiful places. But what people usually remember most are the feelings attached to them. Morning coffees after surfing. Conversations with strangers who become friends. The sound of the ocean through open windows. Sunlight in the small streets. Creative ideas that suddenly return when life finally slows down. That is what I tried to capture in the photobook.
And that is also what places like Wild Souls make possible. If you are searching for a coliving around Ericeira that combines community, creativity, remote work and authentic local experience, Wild Souls is one of the places that truly represents the spirit of this town.
